Our Story

 
Living Word Church held its first Sunday morning service on June 6, 2004 in the Pine Grove Community Center in Livingston, AL.  However, it was two years prior to this that God spoke to both Senior Pastor Byron Paul Franklin, Sr., and his spiritual father, Dr. Michael D. Moore about the church.  In 2002, God spoke to Pastor Franklin about a church through a Rhema word in Zechariah 8 (which is the foundation for the vision of Living Word).  Around the same time, God spoke to Dr. Moore the words, “Living Word Church, Livingston, Alabama”.  Through a series of divinely orchestrated events, God would bring together the vision and location, and Living Word Church was established.
 
 
A little more than a year later, Living Word broke ground on 23 acres of land (purchased debt free), and erected 3 domes that would become the 2nd location of Living Word’s main sanctuary in 2005.  After paying off the debt of the first facility in 2006, we were ready again to expand to our current facility which includes a sanctuary, children’s classrooms, offices and more.
